Low pressure to the south pulling cold air out of British Columbia, onshore flow blowing moist air in from over the Pacific Ocean, and we have snow.
The weather forecast says the snow will stop falling this afternoon. Which is fine. Seattle generally comes to a grinding halt whenever snow descends below 500' elevation, and tomorrow is a work day.
The snow that fell a few days ago stuck around and was supplemented
yesterday by a fresh inch or so. Overnight last night and into the early afternoon today, another
weather system passed through the region, adding yet more to the total.
The hummingbird is not licking an unflavored popsicle; I thawed out the solution this morning. She and the others have been noisily fighting one another for a turn at it all day.
Yet another snow storm is forecast to stay south of us tomorrow, and then everyone gets a slush pile as the weather turns to rain thereafter.
